Classics and rarities from old Japan. This exhibition offers an intriguing glimpse into Edo-Meiji era and its lively publishing trade and woodcut prints. There will be works by well-known artists such as Hiroshige and Hokusai and senjafuda-woodcuts with themes related to pilgrimages . The exhibition is organized by Eye on Art Team together with Kyoto Paradise Book Art Gallery.

Siimes - Majatuksia -exhibition presents photography by Liisa Takala from 2020-2022. The main focus is on tree houses and playhuts and structures that were constructed by children. Meet the Artist at the gallery on Saturday October 1st from 1-3 PM.

Joki kaipaa valtamerta - River Longs for the Sea is a site-specific installation in two spaces which include also paintings and a poem in twenty verses.

Exhibition opening on Night of the Arts August 18th from 5-7 PM. This exhibition combines works by mother and son, Ukrainian Julia and Daniil Nemirovskaja separated by the ongoing war. Julia Nemirovskaja escaped to Helsinki last spring after Russia attacked her home country Ukraine. With her was the youngest child in the family while the rest of the family stayed in Kyiv.

Mirties Gatvé - Street of Death is a long time photography project by Tuula Vehanen. She photographed in Vilnius, Lithuania in years 1995, 2005 and 2015. Opening reception on Tuesday July 19th from 5-7 PM.

Night time snow storm turned the mountain view into a white fairytale land. The sun shining through the clouds gave the snowy plants a fresh white shimmer. The sun made the snow smelt slowly so that while photographing the scene changed constantly. The snow stuck into the plants acrobatically and dropped slowly to the ground when it melted and created natural graphic elements. Japanese ink paintings have had a great influence on my photographic practice. The circle completed with the choice of the printing material. Every sheet of paper is handmade in Japan.

On the Edges - Reunoilla is an exhibition of photography by Sam Jamsen who has worked with the Finnish rock band Apulanta since 2015. Jamsen has photographed the band for record covers, posters and other promotional material. Jamsen's work gives us the chance to get a close look at the charismatic group that is one of the most popular bands in Finland.

Timo Setälä (b.1958) is a photographer from Helsinki. For years he has toured the shores of Barents Sea on his bicycle and photographed the powerful yet frail arctic landscape. The works in this exhibition are from his trips between 2019-2022. The exhibition opening takes place in the Laterna Magica Cellar Gallery on Tuesday May 24th 5-7 PM.

Andi Balogh is a Hungarian photographer based in Espoo, she moved to the land of thousand lakes in 2009. Under the Northern Sky is a collection of photographs Balogh has taken on her travels to Lapland and northern Norway as well as in her neighbouring forests and by the seashores in the southern Finland. The artist Chrisse Candolin explores allegorically the human relationship with nature in her light paintings seen in the Laterna Magica Book Gallery space. In Touch - Kosketuksissa - is an exhibition of erotic photographs, of touches between people and of feelings on the skin. Sam Jamsen photographed people, of varied types of sexuality during the covid pandemic. The works offer a view into intimacy between couples and groups.
