Myötäreaktio ("Co-reaction") is a multidisciplinary exhibition by stage designer Salli Kari and art educator Susanna Kaulanen. It explores unknown feelings; those areas of traumatic experiences that are suppressed and difficult perceive. The exhibition combines paintings, poetry, installation and sound. At its centre is the Dig, where the expedition unearths remnants that help to build a fragmented map of the past. Myötäreaktio suggests a new way of being when all the old ways have become impossble.
Salli Kari's artistic work emphasises the spatial experience and public engagement. She is interested in visual storytelling and also working with unique spaces which have stage-like qualities. At the moment Kari studies writing at the Critical Academy in Finland.
Susanna Kaulanen's approach to Myötäreaktio is based in the methods used in art pedagogy and interdisciplinary arts. She enjoys exploring feelings, estrangement and phenomena in popular culture. Those themes are often explored through drawing and music.Kaulanen is particularly interested in the co-play between the sound and the visual and she studies electronic music production.
