Exhibition Omia mea mecum porto - All that is mine I carry with me in Laterna Magica's Tile and Cellar Galleries consists of light art, installations and collages. Artists Jyrki Sinisalo and Mari Vallemaa both work in the Roihupelto art quarter and are also members in the art association Taidekortteli ry. The idea for this joint exhibition was born after visiting each others' studio spaces.  Meet the artists on the the last day of the exhibition Sat April 29 from 1-3 PM at the gallery. Warm welcome.

Opening and Book launch on April 4th from 5-7 PM in the Book Gallery space is photography by Edith Södergran (1892 –1923) in an exhibition Maailma on minun - The World is Mine. Södergran was a Swedish-speaking Finnish poet, one of the first modernists within Swedish-language literature and loved by generations of readers. Agneta Rahikainen and Eira Sillanpää have collected Södergran's poetry and photography into a book and an exhibition, which bears the name Maailma on minun - The World is Mine. The book comes out in two languages, Edith Södergrans mother-tongue Swedish and in translation in Finnish.

The joint exhibition of Miia Kallio and Otto Santala, "Obstacles" in Gallery Laterna Magica's Cellar and Tile Galleries consists of ceramic sculptures, oil paintings, and video works. Kallio is a visual and ceramic artist, focusing on the use of Finnish red clay, or "wild clay" in her work. Santala, a visual artist, also uses photography and moving images in his expression.Meet the artists at the gallery on Saturday March 25th

Essi Hurme's exhibition consists of ceramic sculptures and pastel paintings. The pastel paintings by Essi Hurme are portraits and colour studies of imaginary persons. Her ceramic sculptures or"sitters", as she calls them are a part of a larger series that has been ongoing for years and this exhibition lets some of the sitters take their place on the Book gallery walls. Ari Jaskari (b,1958) is known for his photos depicting the Saimaa lake district and the people on its shores. His photography exhibition and book Oma koti - Sweet home are based on material that Jaskari photographed in his home town Anttola in the early 1980's. The photographs offer intimate glimpses into Jaskari's family life and community, everyday life.

Risto Moberg's andd Jaru Alponpoika Kokkinen's significant collection of erotic art will be exhibited in the galleries of Laterna Magica in early February 2023. Exhibition consists of photography, posters, prints, paintings and sculptures. Exhibition opening on Tuesday January 31st from 5-7 PM. Warm welcome.

"Flashbacks of my audience" is a performer Helena Valtonen's love letter to her audience, absent during the corona pandemic. Warm welcome to meet the photographer Helena Valtonen on the last day of the exhibition from 1-3 PM on Jan 28th.

Moments at the Cemetery Hetkiä hautausmaalla -exhibition consists of photographs and a video that was filmed with a pinhole camera at the Hietaniemi Cemetery in Helsinki. In these past few years I have been interested in painting portraits of those people who have been the trailblazers of their time. People who were thinking outside the box. Queens is a collection of portraits of people who have inspired me in my own life. It continues the work I presented in the exhibition Perfect Strangers in 2020. Professor Antero Takala (b. 1939) is a photographic artist who lives and works in Helsinki, Finland. He has held numerous private exhibitions since 1966 around the world, showing landscapes, portraits and experimental photography. Pertti Nisonen is known for his portrait photographs. Kansalaisia-Citizens exhibition and book that will be launched in the exhibition opening consists of his black and white portraits from 1979-2021. Welcome to the exhibition opening on Tuesday October 25th from 5-7 PM. "This exhibition presents lace paintings and weavings with natural materials that pay homage to the lakes and the natural world. The works describe the life in lakes in different seasons. My relationship with lakes and nature is mystical. Crocheting connects me to the women in my family and is for me one of the everyday rituals in a woman's life."

Photojournalist Timo Kirves (1939-2021) worked as a photographer for over 60 years. He is best remembered for his photographs of people. In his last years he was enchanted by Havanna and travelled there three times to photograph. The exhibition and book Havanna Mix were finalized by his nephew, Antti Kirves who will be present at the gallery on Sat October 22nd from 1-3 PM.

Myötäreaktio ("Co-reaction") is a multidisciplinary exhibition by stage designer Salli Kari and art educator Susanna Kaulanen. It explores unknown feelings; those areas of traumatic experiences that are suppressed and difficult perceive. The exhibition combines paintings, poetry, installation and sound.
