35 year old Laterna Magica's Night of the Arts program is loaded with art exhibitions, book discussions and live music. The Night of the Arts starts with the opening of three exhibitions from 5 to 7 p.m.
In the Cellar Gallery Pia Andell and Mina Laamo's endless, a self-reinventing documentary installation Four Trick Pony.
In the Tile Gallery and on the Small Stage Jana Výborná-Turunen's exhibition Echoes from Afar.
In the Book Gallery Takuyo Kawachi's "Lines and Tones", sumi-e ink paintings and kiri-e paper cuts.

7.30 p.m. Book discussion (in Finnish): Sanna Nyqvist: Rannalla — Miten kirjailijat löysivät meren. How writers discovered the sea. Nyqvist looks into the works of Jane Austen, Virginia Woolf, Tove Jansson and other classic writers on a trip to the beach and experiences the landscape through the writer's eyes.
At 8 p.m. DJ plays weird and wonderful tunes for the Night of the Arts.
Around 8.30 p.m.Live music in the Bookstore: Jean Ramsay ja Tollund Trio. Jean Ramsay, a singer-songwriter plays English-language folk tunes and will perfom at Laterna with Tollundin pelimannit, i.e. violinist Paula Susitaival and bassist Jaakko Kyrö.
