Exhibition opening on Tuesday Oct 1st from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Warm Welcome!
Photos taken by Anastasia Lapsuyi and Markku Lehmuskallio are on display in the upcoming exhibition in Laterna Magica's Book Gallery. What they both have in common is that they are not photographers. The photos that will be presented were created while working on movies. A photograph captures a blink of the eye in the flow of time.
Anastasia Lapsuy has photographed rock images in theTassili n'Ajjer plateau in Algeria and Kakadu National Park in Australia. The rock paintings are a global gallery, a mirror, from the reflection of which it is possible to get to know the generations that lived before us, their thinking, human itself. What do we know about the early thinking of our own humankind? We only know what the rock paintings tell us. Pictures in the rock, language, but no words.
Markku Lehmuskallio has shot the photographs in the exhibition in Finland, Russia and Canada. He has also photographed traces left by people thousands of years ago. The traces are the shadow of the people who lived before us, which falls over the earth.
They have been like us and thanks to the traces they left, they are still present. Generations change and there are more traces, new ones every day.
